A warm welcome and southern greetings to you from one of the first cities in the United States to manufacture its own electricity. Since 1902 our team of dedicated employees has worked diligently to keep the lights burning brightly in and around historic New Bern. In the event of an outage, our municipal operation is able to offer fast and complete power restoration by skilled local linemen. We provide service you can count on.

The electric system involves three delivery points from which the City receives electricity to supply over 17,000 residential customers and more than 3,400 commercial customers. The area included in the City electric grid encompasses most of New Bern, Trent Woods, and points along Highway 70 East to Havelock.
